About Us.
VERMIFARM Ltd is a nature positive agricultural company that was born in 2021. With operations in Rwanda, VERMIFARM works to promote the use of organic fertilizer to increase crop yield production in sub-Saharan countries. This is done through vermicomposting techniques.
VERMIFARM is the first sustainability advocates for worm farming initiatives in Rwanda. We are one of the nine winners of the Resilient Agriculture Innovation for Nature (RAIN) Challenge 2023 organized by Global Resilience Partnerships (GRP) in partnership with Shockwave Foundation and Munich-Re Foundation. The RAIN Challenge recognizes our efforts to produce and distribute regenerative, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly vermicompost fertilizer and through this we support smallholder farmers.
VERMIFARM aims to encourage farmers to transition from inorganic to organic farming practices, promoting environmental preservation through knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and guidance for individuals from all backgrounds.
To promote the use of organic fertilizer with the purpose to increase crop yield production by using vermicomposting techniques and supporting vulnerable communities. At least VERMIFARM targets the usage of organic fertilizer to reach 80000 smallholder farmers and be able to increase their crop yield by at least 30% and generate revenue that can be re-invested to reach the production capacity of 100,000 tons annually in five years. .
